The Kenji character means both Kingfisher and Jade. Kingfisher has been featured on several Namiki pens, either as the main subject or as the decor. It’s name also denies a skilled diver and an insect found on the banks of rivers. Artists and poets have been fascinated by it and have celebrated it in their work. The king fisher can fly in the air and dive into the water and swim. The feathers and the crest of the bird represents the blue sky and green of the deep water.
